Shirley Bastian
Shirley has many years experience with the largest meat processors in Victoria, where she has served airline and food service distributors in Asia and the Middle East with a wide variety of meat products. Shirley Bastian handles the administration side of the business from accounts to sales and marketing, and as the pioneer of Red Meat marketing worldwide, is also in charge of implementing branded beef into new markets.

Dirk Geleit
With 20+ years of industry experience (production through to sales and marketing) Dirk utilises extensive product knowledge to ensure that the end user receives product suited to their needs. He is responsible for all sectors in all destinations. Dirk Geleit is an AusMeat accredited, qualified butcher, boning room manager, export boning room manager, as well as being a retail manager, involved in both production planning, and export sales and marketing.

Rapti Selvaratnam
Rapti handles all Meat Tender documentation and logistics coordination. She has over 25 years experience in export documentation and customer service exporting commodities including meat, wool and dairy products, as well as extensive experience in logistics and freight forwarding.

Meat Tender Pty Ltd was founded in 2008, to supply meat products for export from Australia, and other meat producing countries, to the world-wide market.

An Interview with Mr. Dirk Geleit, date 21st July 2009:

Q: Does Meat Tender offer any specialised services different to other meat export companies?

A:

We are able to work with clients in showcasing or workshops in how to further process meat products. We can assist with product development and can work with clients and end users in costing products and new product lines.

 

Q: Are any of its products unique to the company in the way it is prepared?

A:

We are not a processor but we can work on behalf of our clients in developing unique product lines that would establish a niche product that again would be different to other distributors. We are currently working with processors producing items for banquet and airline catering that is rather specialised in the application.

 

Q: What specific areas of the industry did Shirley Bastian and Dirk Geleit get their combined 50 years of experience?

A:

Shirley: Accounts, production planning, sales and marketing, the red meat program

Dirk: Qualified butcher, retail manager, export boning room manager, Ausmeat accredited, production planning, export sales and marketing.

 

Q: Besides the government's own standards in Quality Assurance, what specific quality assurance schemes does Meat Tender offer it's customers?

A:

Regular communication and site visits to producers to ensure product is meeting specification. Will not deliver product we do not have full confidence of the supply chain and processing capabilities of the producer.

A:

The producers we deal with regularly receive industry awards!!

 

Q: Does Meat Tender have a strict criteria for selecting primary producers?

A:

The requirements we have from our clients vary from manufacturing product to 5 star fine dining so we carefully select to procure from processors whose product matches the specification required.

 

Q: What makes Australian meat different to other meat producing countries?

A:

Being an Island and also so far from all other continents Australia is renown for is clean green image of clean air, water, abundant feed large area for livestock to feed, diversity of product, diversity of climate .
